D/ST Rankings for Week 5 Fantasy Football

Vikings defense makes for a good streaming option against the hapless Lions. Full D/ST rankings for 2021 Week 5 fantasy football.

It was another good week for my fantasy football D/ST rankings in Week 4. Accuracy-wise, I was in line with the Fantasy Pros expert average again and though I missed on a few of my top-10 picks for the week (Titans & Bengals especially), my DFS pick of the week in the Cleveland Browns finished as the D/ST5, and my stream of the week in the Green Bay Packers finished as the D/ST10 so were solid plays if you made them. With an ever growing amount of tape and data at hand, I go again in Week 5 to bring you my D/ST rankings for the next round of match ups. I will continue to post my rankings each week, and give you a team you can look to stream, plus my favorite DFS plays for the week ahead.

These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any quarterback news drops to see how it’s reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific quarterback rankings or starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.

Stream of the Week: Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions

It was a much better real football showing from the Vikings defense in Week 4 against Cleveland, and though the Browns were able to dominate on the ground, Minnesota held Baker Mayfield to just 143 passing yards. The Vikings for all their defensive issues so far this season (I have ranked 26th in my NEFF ratings), are currently the D/ST14 in fantasy and face a below average offense in the Lions (20th per NEFF). At just 9% rostered, they are worth rostering if your season-long defense has a bad match up this week.

Alternative streamer – Las Vegas Raiders vs Chicago Bears (9% rostered)

DFS Play of the Week: Arizona Cardinals ($2,000) vs San Francisco 49ers

With the Cardinals offense the strongest unit on display in this game (No. 2 per NEFF), it gives the Cardinals defense the opportunity to tee off on Trey Lance, who is making his first start for the 49ers with Jimmy Garoppolo sidelined for a few weeks. Excluding the long touchdown pass to Deebo Samuel, Lance was only 8-of-17 for 82 yards in replacing Jimmy G against the Seahawks. If the Cardinals can keep him from escaping the pocket, then we should see the typical rookie debut growing pains, leading to turnovers and fantasy points. The Cardinals are the D/ST2 in fantasy in 2021, so this is a great value play in your DFS lineup this week.

Alternative DFS play – Cleveland Browns @ Los Angeles Chargers ($2,700)
