Welcome to the D/ST rankings and streamers for Week 16 fantasy football.
It was another strong week for fantasy defenses in Week 15, as seven teams scored you more than 10 fantasy points. The top scorers of the week were the Saints with 18 points, who held the Tom Brady led Buccaneers scoreless, as well as totaling 4 sacks and a pair of turnovers. Just behind the Saints came the Cowboys and Steelers with 16 points each and who both managed 4 turnovers each in wins over the Giants and Titans respectively. My top streaming option of the week were the Texans who were strong in finishing with 10 points as the DST 7 against the Jaguars. My DFS play of the week was OK but pretty average as the Bills scored you 7 points against the Panthers, finishing tied as the DST 13.
I go again in Week 16 to bring you my D/ST rankings for the next round of matchups, and for most leagues we’re into the fantasy playoffs where the right DST play can be the difference between advancing to the final next week or bowing out at the worst stage. I continue to give you a team you can look to stream, plus my favorite DFS play for the week ahead.
These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any news drops to see how it’s reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific DST starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.
Stream of the Week: Kansas City Chiefs vs Pittsburgh Steelers (13% rostered)
I know there are COVID issues in KC this week so I’m basing this on them having time for key personnel to get cleared in time for Sunday’s game. There’s been little movement on the Chiefs’ owned percentage over the past few weeks despite the strong real world play and the high scoring fantasy output. Since week 10 they have been the 4th rated defense per my NEFF ratings and before last week’s shootout with the Chargers, posted three consecutive games with 15 or more fantasy points. I have the Steelers as my 16th rated offense and 21st since week 10 so if you need a streamer to give you edge in your fantasy playoffs this week, the Chiefs are as strong as its gets.
Alternative streamer – Green Bay Packers vs Cleveland Browns (25% rostered)
DFS Play of the Week: Philadelphia Eagles ($3,600) vs New York Giants
Whether its Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm suiting up for the Giants this week, you have to feel good about the Eagles’ chances of creating some takeaways this week, or at the very least not allowing many points. Glennon has 5 turnovers and 5 sacks in his last three games and Fromm has never started a game. Feels like a recipe for success in a must-win game for the Eagles.
