Welcome to the D/ST rankings and streamers for Week 17 fantasy football.
It was another strong week for fantasy defenses in Week 16, as eight teams scored you more than 10 fantasy points. The top scorers of the week were the Dolphins with 25 points, who took advantage of rookie Ian Book starting his first game at quarterback for the Saints as they sacked him 8 times and intercepted him twice, returning one for a touchdown. Just behind the Dolphins came the Cowboys with 22 points against Washington, driven by 5 sacks and a pair of defensive scores. My top streaming option of the week were the Chiefs and they had a strong performance with 12 points as the DST6 against the Steelers. My DFS play of the week was money as the Eagles finished the week as the DST4 overall with 16 points but tied for the DST1 with the Buccaneers in DFS in Week 16.
Its finals week in a lot of fantasy leagues this week so here for the final time in 2021 are my D/ST rankings for this week’s match ups, including my top streaming option and my favorite DFS play for Week 17.
These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any news drops to see how it’s reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific DST starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.
Stream of the Week: New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers (34% rostered)
If you need a streaming option for finals week then the Saints offer great value against a Panthers offense that allows the third most points to fantasy defenses. Sam Darnold is getting the start this week and his last five starts have averaged 11.8 points to opposition DSTs and with the Saints getting healthy after losing a ton of players to the covid list last week, they could offer you a fantasy title winning score to your lineup this week.
Alternative streamer – Chicago Bears vs New York Giants (18% rostered)
DFS Play of the Week: New England Patriots ($3,900) vs Jacksonville Jaguars
There are some good value plays this week such as the Cowboys ($3,200) and Colts ($2,900), but the potential of taking the Patriots at home against the team that allows the most fantasy points to opposing defenses is too good to avoid. The Jags are also missing their best offensive piece in James Robinson and that means it further plays into New England’s strength of their pass defense.
Alternative DFS play – Dallas Cowboys ($3,200) vs Arizona Cardinals
