There was no shortage of surprises in Week 1 of this great NFL season, and expect for the hits to continue as we cruise forward. Here are my kicker rankings and top streaming options for Week 2 fantasy football.
This week, I leaned heavily on the ‘Las Vegas’ expected point totals, and then I threw in a dash of ‘do I think that offense will get stymied in the red-zone’. Let’s take a look at a few guys who ended up ranked a little differently for me versus the consensus.
Who’s No. 1?
Tristan Vizcaino (K1) — The Los Angeles Chargers had no trouble moving the ball against a Washington defense which is expected to be one of the units in the league. In Week 2 the Chargers face off against a Dallas Cowboys side who is likely better than what we saw on Thursday night, but also likely not one of the best defenses in the league. ‘Vegas’ has the Chargers as a top-5 scoring team this week, so, calling my shot as Vizcaino as this week’s top kicker! PS, Vizaino is only 6% rostered according to CBS.
Avoid
Younghoe Koo (K23) — The Atlanta Falcons looked especially not-good against a Philadelphia Eagles team I expect to come back to Earth in their matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. The Falcons will be taking on Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers gave up plenty of points to a Cowboys team which may end up as one of the leviathan offenses in 2021. After what we saw from Atlanta in Week 1, this game may get put away so early the Falcons end up forgoing field goals, electing for failed 4th-down conversions instead.
Let’s Go Streaming, You Say?
Chase McLaughlin (K7) — The Cleveland Browns gave the Kansas City Chiefs all they could handle, coming up just a hair short. McLaughlin and the Browns will take on the Houston Texans in Week 2, a matchup that should right the ship in Cleveland. I doubt the Browns will have too much trouble moving the ball against a Texans side that just gave up nearly 300 yards passing to the Jaguars, and so with a little luck, Chase could have a busy afternoon.
