New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is expected to miss the start of the 2021 NFL season due to a surgery to repair the ligaments in his ankle back in June (per Ian Rapoport)
Fantasy Impact: This is a HUGE blow to start the year for both the Saints and fantasy football teams. Rapoport suggests Thomas could miss up to four months which would put a return in November. Thomas is currently ranked our WR7 and going off draft boards in the third round but that’s all going to change now. Right now, I wouldn’t draft Thomas in redraft until at least round eight or nine. This also makes Alvin Kamara an even more desirable fantasy back and makes Tre’Quan Smith worth drafting.
