Can we have a quick chat about the last two Thursday Night Football games? We’ve had one touchdown and 40 total points scored in the last two Thursday night games. It shouldn’t take much for this week’s matchup between then Saints and Cardinals to get us off to a better start in Week 7 DFS fantasy football.
I know the Saints are starting Andy Dalton at quarterback and the Cardinals just managed to score only nine points versus the Seahawks in Week 6. But I’m trying to manifest positive energy into the universe in hopes that we’ll finally get a watchable game on Thursday night.
There is plenty of injury news to pay attention to ahead of Thursday’s game, so make sure to keep tabs on any updates. While news could change between now and the start of the game, here are my favorite captain and flex spot plays for DraftKings’ showdown slate between the Saints and the Cardinals in Week 7.
Captain Spot Considerations
Alvin Kamara ($15,900)
Since Kamara returned to the Saints in Week 5 following a one-game absence due to an injury, he’s received a mammoth-sized workload. In the last two weeks, the dynamic running back has carried the ball 42 times for 202 yards while also hauling in 12 of his 15 targets for 116 yards.
At the time this article is being written, it appears that Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry are trending toward missing another week of action. With a lack of receiving options, Kamara should have a lofty usage rate again on Thursday against a Cardinals team that is allowing the sixth-most yards per reception to RBs this season.
DeAndre Hopkins ($15,300)
Hopkins has been activated to the 53-man roster for the Cardinals ahead of Thursday’s showdown after serving a six-game suspension to begin the season. The All-Pro wideout hasn’t played since Week 14 of last season, but with Marquise Brown expected to miss time, I expect him to be pretty busy in his season debut.
