NFL DFS DraftKings Showdown Week 6 Picks: Commanders at Bears

Picking the best players to put in your Captain and Flex spot for Week 6’s Commanders at Bears DFS DraftKings Showdown.

When watching horror movies, there are usually scenes where you know that something bad is about to happen, but you force yourself to watch what is about to unfold anyways. That’s what it feels like with the Washington Commanders facing the Chicago Bears to get Week 6 started on Thursday night. There will be a lot of people that won’t want to admit they watched this game.

We got an ugly, low-scoring game between the Colts and Broncos last Thursday and this week’s game could have a similar outcome. Even with Thursday’s game expected to be one that doesn’t interest fans much, degenerates around the world (including myself) will be taking part in the DFS showdown contests on DraftKings.

While some people may elect to run errands or clean their house instead of watching the entirety of Thursday’s matchup between the Commanders and the Bears, here are my favorite captain and flex plays on DraftKings.

Captain Spot Considerations

David Montgomery ($15,600)

The Bears aren’t allowing Justin Fields to throw the ball much as they’ve elected to run the ball often regardless of what the situation is in the game. Khalil Herbert has certainly looked more effective running the ball, however, Montgomery returned last week and dominated the backfield workload for Chicago.

While Montgomery is averaging 3.8 yards per attempt, he had 12 of the 16 running back carries in Week 5 and he caught 4 passes for 62 yards with a rushing touchdown. If Chicago can get into the red zone, the former third-round pick has the best chance to score for the Bears and he should get usage in the short passing game.

Terry McLaurin ($13,500)

The connection between Carson Wentz and McLaurin has yet to show consistency this season for the Commanders. That being said, McLaurin is talented enough to have an explosive game at any moment and he’s seen at least six targets in each of the last four weeks despite his production being disappointing thus far.

The big-play wideout has also recorded 75+ receiving yards in three out of the first five games this season, so if Washington throws it down the field, it’s likely going to McLaurin. If you use McLaurin…
