When the NFL scheduled the Ravens and the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football in Week 8, they likely assumed that both teams would be boasting elite records. While the Ravens currently own a 4-3 record and are in first place in the AFC North, the Buccaneers have lost four of their last five, including games against the Steelers and Panthers.
That being said, Tampa Bay is still in first place in the NFC South, though, the winner of this week’s showdown between the Falcons and Panthers could secure the top spot in the division if the Buccaneers lose on Thursday night. Speaking of showdowns, even with both teams off to slower starts than expected, we have plenty of notable players to choose from on DraftKings’ showdown contest.
Ahead of Thursday’s matchup between the Ravens and the Buccaneers, here are my favorite captain and flex plays on DraftKings.
Captain Spot Considerations
Lamar Jackson ($17,700)
Yes, Jackson has failed to score more than 18.1 points in each of the last four weeks for the Ravens. Despite his recent quiet outings, the former NFL MVP is capable of being the leading scorer on any slate with his elite dual-threat ability as he’s averaging 8.7 non-passing fantasy points per game (second-most among QBs).
Even though I tend to avoid using QBs in my captain spot with plenty of the field using a quarterback, Jackson is an exception and I don’t want to miss out on when he has one of his trademark performances again.
Mark Andrews ($13,800)
I had to check if my DraftKings app was glitching when I saw that Andrews posted 0.4 points in Week 7 vs the Browns. The All-Pro tight end saw a season-low two targets as he caught zero passes.
While Andrews disappointed last week, he still has an impressive 29.9% target share and he’s recorded 22+ points in four of the first seven games this season. You’ll want to stack Andrews…
