Welcome to Week 18 NFL DFS Pick One where I make my selection from a group of similarly priced players on DraftKings from each of the positions and pick the one I’d take when building my Sunday main slate lineups. Its the final week of the regular season and as usual that means carnage for DFS with players being rested ahead of the playoffs or just absent to avoid injury before the long offseason begins. I’ve tried to pick players from games with something on the line this week and therefore an incentive to play hard and score well on your final Sunday slate roster of the 2022 season.
Quarterback
Dak Prescott @ Washington Commanders ($6,600), Kirk Cousins @ Chicago Bears ($6,500) or Tom Brady @ Atlanta Falcons ($6,400)
My Pick – Dak Prescott
Kirk Cousins burnt me last week in the cold Green Bay weather and though the Bears offer far less of a challenge so I’m taking Dak Prescott in a game that can still result in the Cowboys getting the number one seed. With a healthy receiving offense at his disposal, I’m backing Dak to put on a show against an average Washington pass defense with nothing to play for.
Running Back
Nick Chubb @ Pittsburgh Steelers ($7,500), Dalvin Cook @ Chicago Bears ($7,300) or Joe Mixon vs Baltimore Ravens ($7,100)
My Pick – Dalvin Cook
It’s been an underwhelming year for Cook in DFS, with just three 20+ point games all season. In a Week 18 game where the Vikings can take the NFC number 2 seed if the Cowboys stumble, Cook should go off against a Bears run defense that ranks dead last in NEFF rating and has allowed over 250 rushing yards in each of the last two weeks.
Cam Akers @ Seattle Seahawks ($6,200), Najee Harris vs Cleveland Browns ($6,100) or Raheem Mostert vs New York Jets ($6,000)
My Pick – Najee Harris
Harris has been a solid if unspectacular performer over recent weeks but last week broke the 20 point mark for just the second time this season. With the Steelers needing a win to have any chance of making the post-season, Harris will be leant on as their most consistent player to deliver the goods and he faces the 27th rated run defense in the Browns. The value isn’t great but the upside is there in a must-win game
Wide Receiver
Ja’Marr Chase vs Baltimore Ravens ($8,400), CeeDee Lamb @ Washington Commanders ($8,200) or A.J. Brown vs New York Giants ($8,000)
My Pick – A.J. Brown
Pick your poison here but of these three elite receivers I’m taking Brown with the most on the line for the Eagles and Jalen Hurts set to return against a Giants team with their playoff place secure and likely to rest key players ahead of the Wild Card round.
Jerry Jeudy vs Los Angeles Chargers ($6,300), Chris Olave vs Carolina Panthers ($6,200) or Michael Pittman vs HoustonTexans ($6,100)
My Pick – Jerry Jeudy
Jeudy has become the main man in the Broncos receiving corps, leading the team in targets in each of the last four weeks. With Russell nothing on the line for Denver and the Chargers already assured of a playoff place, this could be a fun spot for Jeudy to have another big game.
Tight End
Dallas Goedert vs New York Giants ($4,900), Cole Kmet vs Minnesota Vikings ($4,600) or Dalton Schultz @ Washington Commanders ($4,500)
My Pick – Dalton Schultz
Schultz is coming off his biggest fantasy outing of the season last week and offers a huge threat in the red zone. A nice stack with Dak Prescott is a relatively low priced outlay with some significant upside this week.
D/ST
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers ($2,800), Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts ($2,700) or Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings ($2,600)
My Pick – Houston Texans
Why not eh? Last game of the season for a plucky Texans defense that has been above league average and who finishes up against the 31st rated offense per the NEFF ratings in the Colts. Another D/ST I like around this salary is the Jets ($2,600), who finish up against the Dolphins and rookie Skylar Thompson and will looking to finish the season with a bang.
