NFL DFS Lineup Advice & Picks for Week 8

Building the best DFS lineup for NFL Week 8 starts with stacking the Colts' quarterback and running back vs the Titans.

How was your Week 7 in NFL DFS? Mine was a better one as I saw a 23% increase week on week to score 140.18 points, though still not good enough to bring home any money. I had four selection that hit that all important fire symbol, with Jalen Hurts, Chris Godwin, Dante Pettis and the Cardinals DST hitting, though I had cold weeks from Derrick Henry (typical) and Darrell Williams which held me back. I’m looking ahead to Week 8 now and a new DFS lineup and I’ve selected my best DraftKings NFL DFS lineup for the Week 8 Sunday slate of games, breaking down my reasoning for selecting those players and hopefully helping you with your DFS selections for the week ahead.

Note: I’m setting my lineup based on the standard nine player, $50k salary cap setup for the Sunday slate of games, excluding Sunday Night Football.

Quarterback: Carson Wentz vs Tennessee Titans ($5,700)

I start this week’s lineup with Carson Wentz who has found his feet in Indy over the last month and has averaged just under 21 fantasy points per game over that period. The match up this week against the Titans is a good one as they are bottom 10 in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, and with a host of pass catchers he’s been spreading the ball around to, Wentz is a great value play this week.

Running Back: Jonathan Taylor vs Tennessee Titans ($7,200)

Taylor is on quite the tear at the moment, averaging over 24 points per game over the last month and has accounted for over a third of the Colts’ total offensive yardage over that period. The Titans have been good against the run in the past couple of weeks, but they weren’t facing a bell cow type back in either game. Taylor is on form and I’m backing him to keep it going this week.

Running Back: Cordarrelle Patterson vs Carolina Panthers ($6,200)

Patterson saw less work in the passing game last week vs Miami with Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage back in the lineup but still managed to get into the end zone and out-touched Mike Davis in the run game by 14 attempts to 4. With the rushing floor established, I expect his to see his passing work tick back up again and be a nice value RB2 this week.

Wide Receiver: Ja’Marr Chase @ New York Jets ($7,500)

Not much to say here. Chase is the WR3 in fantasy and has a great match up vs the Jets as the Bengals look to continue to establish themselves as a contender in the AFC. At $1500 less than Cooper Kupp I’ll take the hottest rookie in the NFL to lead my receiving corps this week.

Wide Receiver: Marvin Jones Jr. @ Seattle Seahawks ($5,900)

With DJ Chark gone for the season, Jones feasted last time out against Miami and though he and Laviska Shenault are pacing each other for WR1 targets, Jones is seeing twice the looks in the red zone and therefore has the bigger upside.

Wide Receiver: Emmanuel Sanders vs Miami Dolphins ($5,400)

Sanders is having a career renaissance in Buffalo and is the WR19 in points per game this season. The Dolphins are in the bottom 3 in points allowed to receivers and at a modest $5,400, Sanders feels like a strong play this week.

Tight End: Jared Cook vs New England Patriots ($3,400)

I needed a value play at tight end this week and Cook always offers touchdown upside. Its a risky play as the Patriots have been strong in points allowed to tight ends, but Cook is a key part of the Chargers passing game and has three receiving touchdowns inside the red zone already this year. Another one this week please Jared.

Flex: Elijah Mitchell @ Chicago Bears ($5,400)

Mitchell led the 49ers’ rushing attack last week with 18 rushes for 107 yards and a touchdown and should do again in what could be a low scoring game against the Bears in Week 8.

D/ST: Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins ($3,300)

I was really surprised to see the Bills priced as the D/ST7 this week as they face a Dolphins team that I have ranked as the league’s 25th rated offense to the Bills’ No. 1 defense. Add in the benefit of the Bills coming off a bye week and playing at home and that has all the ingredients for a top DFS week. They will be in every DFS lineup I play this week at this price.

Who are you rostering in your DFS lineups this week?
