Welcome to my quarterback rankings and top streamers for Week 12 fantasy football.
After three down weeks for quarterback scoring, it bounced back with a vengeance in Week 11. We saw 9 quarterbacks score over 20 points, and 3—Justin Herbert, Aaron Rodgers & Jalen Hurts—scored you a potential matchup winning total of over 30 points. Justin Herbert led the way, scoring 34.28 points in the Chargers’ crazy 41-37 win over the Steelers, the second time he’s been the top quarterback scorer. My stream of the week was money, as Cam Newton finished Week 11 as the QB4 with 26.16 points in his first start of the season for the Panthers. That was a polar opposite to my DFS play, as Dak Prescott finished as the QB29 with 2.64 points in a low scoring defeat to the Chiefs.
We have two teams on bye in Week 12, so there’s no Patrick Mahomes or Kyler Murray to rank this week. I continue to look to build on what I’ve seen so far to give you my fantasy football quarterback rankings for this week, and will break down the key streamers (% rostered via Sleeper) and my favorite value DFS plays for the week ahead (price via DraftKings).
These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any quarterback news drops to see how it is reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific quarterback rankings or starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.
Stream of the Week: Taylor Heinicke vs Seattle Seahawks (20% rostered)
Heinicke has settled in this season as a borderline QB1, averaging just under 17 points per game as the QB15 in total fantasy points. He faces a Seahawks defense on MNF that has been league average in allowing points to quarterbacks this season and could be boosted by having Logan Thomas return from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since Week 4. At just 20% rostered, he’s the only real streaming option with some good upside this week so if you need a quarterback loan for one week, Heinicke should be more than serviceable.
Alternative streamer – Tyrod Taylor vs New York Jets (13% rostered)
DFS Play of the Week: Jalen Hurts ($7,300) @ New York Giants
I’ve ranked Hurts as my QB1 this week and given his non-exorbitant salary in DFS, I have no issue rostering him this week. Hurts had a season high 18 rush attempts last week and he is by far the top option in the Eagles’ offense thanks to that rushing floor. The Giants by contrast, have not faced a running quarterback this season, so there is an edge to be had there as Hurts is averaging exactly 10 rushing fantasy points per game, the most of any quarterback. With a touchdown upside every game, I think I’ll have a lot of Hurts shares in DFS this week.
Alternative DFS play – Cam Newton ($5,600) vs Miami Dolphins
