Welcome to my quarterback rankings for Week 6 fantasy football.
It was a wild week for quarterback fantasy football scoring in Week 5, with 4 quarterbacks scoring over 35 points (Allen, Brady, Jackson & Herbert), and another 5 starters (major injuries excluded) scoring fewer than 10 points. Add to that the major injuries suffered by Daniel Jones and Russell Wilson and it was very much a case of the haves and have nots when it came to how much of a contribution you fantasy team got from your starting quarterback this week.
We go again into Week 6 and the first bye weeks of the season so that means no Jameis Winston, Trey Lance, Matt Ryan or Zach Wilson this week. I continue to look to build on what I’ve seen so far to give you my fantasy football quarterback rankings for this week, and will break down the key streamers (rostered % via Sleeper) and my favorite value DFS plays for the week ahead (price via DraftKings).
These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any quarterback news drops to see how it is reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific quarterback rankings or starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.
Stream of the Week: Carson Wentz vs Houston Texans (21% rostered)
It was quite the show in Week 5 when Wentz led the Colts to 19 point lead before their defense capitulated to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Wentz threw for over 400 yards and a pair of touchdowns to register his second straight game with over 22 fantasy points. He faces a Texans defense that has not been as bad as was advertised before the season, but is still in the bottom half of point allowed to quarterbacks this season, which should allow the Colts’ increasingly expansive passing game to continue to prosper and Wentz be a solid spot start this week.
Alternative streamer – Taylor Heinicke vs Kansas City Chiefs (25% rostered)
DFS Play of the Week: Taylor Heinicke ($5,800) vs Kansas City Chiefs
No team has allowed more points to quarterbacks through 5 weeks than the Chiefs, giving up over 27 points per game in their rocky start. Heinicke was on a solid run of fantasy scores before struggling against one the league’s top pass defenses in the Saints, and has the opportunity to bounce back and lead your DFS roster this week. Start him with his top receiver in Terry McLaurin ($7,100) and you have an under the radar pairing that could put you in the money this week.
Alternative DFS play – Joe Burrow @ Detroit Lions ($6,300)
