Welcome to my quarterback rankings for Week 8 fantasy football.

Like in Week 6, there were no massive quarterback scores in Week 7, with Matthew Stafford’s 27.16 points leading the way, and Joe Burrow (26.64 points) and Tua Tagovailoa (26.54) just behind with their best fantasy results of the season. My rankings were the best of the season to date, coming in 15% better the expert consensus at Fantasy Pros, though I think its fair to say we all missed on Patrick Mahomes’ shocking day, where his 7.74 points saw him land as the QB22 of Week 7 against a consensus week ranking of the QB1.

After the pain of byemageddon that we all suffered in Week 7, we only have two teams on bye in Week 8 so it’s only Lamar Jackson and Derek Carr who won’t be at your disposal this week. After my strong Week 7 rankings, I continue to look to build on what I’ve seen so far to give you my fantasy football quarterback rankings for this week, and will break down the key streamers (% rostered via Sleeper) and my favorite value DFS plays for the week ahead (price via DraftKings).

Stream of the Week: Daniel Jones @ Kansas City Chiefs (32% rostered)

What a hot mess the Chiefs’ defense has been in 2021, allowing just under 26 points per game since Week 1 and overall are allowing the second most points to quarterbacks. Jones is a streaky player and has struggled over the past three weeks, though this was not helped by the injuries to his skill position players, but could not wish for a better match up to get right again. Available in around a third of leagues, Jones is a high risk but high reward streaming option this week.

Alternative streamer – Jared Goff vs Philadelphia Eagles (17% rostered)

DFS Play of the Week: Matthew Stafford ($7,600) @ Houston Texans

Loads of good value this week with Lamar Jackson on a bye and a host of other top fantasy quarterbacks playing in prime time (Murray, Rodgers, Mahomes). This means you can’t go wrong with any of the top QBs on the Sunday afternoon slate but I’m taking the in-form Matthew Stafford who is currently the top rated quarterback in my QPI ratings. Facing a Texans defense that I have ranked 26th is a nice matchup, and I’m backing the form of Stafford, along with Cooper Kupp, to ride off into the sunset with a bag of fantasy points and another win for the Rams this week.
