Welcome to the fantasy football Week 11 running back rankings hub!
Carolina’s Christian McCaffrey is cemented as the overall RB1. Pittsburgh’s Najee Harris (LAC) and Dallas’ Ezekiel Elliott (KC) have phenomenal match-ups this week. Follow news cycles closely for the Patriots’ Damien Harris (concussion) and the 49ers’ Elijah Mitchell (finger). The Week 11 outcomes of beastly backups Rhamondre Stevenson and Jeff Wilson Jr. hang in the balance. Kansas City’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire is tentatively due back as well, which puts Darrel Williams’ status majorly in flux.
Below are my top-60 running backs for Week 11. These rankings are geared toward .5PPR scoring formats for Week 11 of the 2021 NFL season but should aid those who play in both non-PPR and full-point PPR formats. I’ve also included my top RB streaming option this week and DFS play of the week (cost via FanDuel).
Check back throughout the week to see how expectations have changed as news continues to roll in, enhancing our prognostication abilities. Feel free to hit me up on twitter @Ginger__Nic for any fantasy related advice.
Stream of the Week: D’Onta Foreman vs. Houston Texans
Foreman has not run well in his two game stint with the Titans but he has run better than fellow free agent signee, Adrian Peterson. Tennessee could choose to give pass catching specialist Jeremy McNichols more work but for now, fantasy managers should ride the “hot hand”. Foreman faces off this week against the team that drafted him in the Round 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft. To be clear, Foreman isn’t likely to tear the roof off against the Texans but the revenge narrative is alive and well and the Titans’ coaching staff did hand Foreman the backfield reins last week after seeing Peterson’s lackluster lead back performance in Week 9. Houston’s run defense is as bad as it gets, having allowed 1,232 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns, both 2nd-most in the NFL. Peterson and McNichols will be factors but if one is in need of a flex play, Foreman can be started as a back-end RB3.
DFS Play of the Week: A.J. Dillon at Minnesota Vikings ($7,000)
Dillon’s salary cap hit of just $7,000 on FanDuel is tied with San Francisco’s Elijah Mitchell as the 15th most on Sunday’s slate. With Aaron Jones (MCL) out this week, Dillon’s in-line for a mammoth-sized workload on Sunday and the Vikings’ front-seven are likely to be without stud DT Michael Pierce (elbow) and LB Anthony Barr (knee). The 2nd-year back has flashed as both a rusher and receiver this year and has a real shot at racking up 20+ carries and 5+ targets this week. The Vikings’ 29th ranked run defense per NEFF rating doesn’t stand a chance. Dillon is a top-5 back this week.
