Week 2 fantasy football is here and so it’s time to take a look at wide receiver rankings for the weekend.
After a wild Week 1, my rankings are all over the place. Aaron Rodgers looked lost against the New Orleans Saints which crushed Davante Adams’ value meanwhile Cooper Kupp being the apple of Matthew Stafford’s eye suddenly makes him a locked-in high-end WR2. I’m sure Week 2 will only take everything we learned from Week 1 and flip it on its head. That’s just the way things go.
Here are my .5PPR wide receiver rankings for 2021 Week 2. I’ve highlighted four standouts who I’m particularly high or low on this week, plus my top streaming option, and quickly explained why I ranked them where I did.
Make sure to check back here throughout the week as I will be making sure to update them as quickly as possible with any new information. As always, if you have specific rankings or starts & sits questions, drop them in the comments or hit me up @petemrogers.
Week 2 Standouts
Mike Williams (WR15) — We heard all off-season this was going to be a big year for Williams and what do we get in Week 1? Eight catches on 12 targets for 82 yards and a score. You love to see it. Now the Los Angeles Chargers get to face the Dallas Cowboys’ secondary that was picked apart by Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown Thursday night. It’s going to be a big Chargers week I can promise you that.
Mike Evans (WR23) — Notice how I didn’t mention Evans’ name when talking about the receivers who picked apart the Cowboys? Evans in classic Evans fashion caught 3-of-6 targets for 24 yards Thursday night. Godwin, Brown, Rob Gronkowski, and even freaking Leonard Fournette all out targeted Evans in Week 1. Evans is a fringe WR2 until he shows otherwise.
Cole Beasley (WR28) — Thirteen targets for Beasley in Week 1. Thirteen. That alone makes Beasley a fringe-WR2. Beasley is Josh Allen’s go-to receiver when he’s feeling pressure and he’ll continue to see work against the Miami Dolphins this week.
Will Fuller (WR36) — Assuming everything is a-go for Fuller, this will likely be the lowest he’s ranked for the rest of the season. Every time Fuller takes the field he’s almost guaranteed to finish a WR2 or better. If you drafted Fuller, you drafted him to be your flex star so feel confident putting him there his first game back.
Top Streamer
Sterling Shepard (WR38) — Shepard is still under 40% rostered on Sleeper after being peppered with nine targets in Week 1. With Evan Engram out, Shepard took over the slot work and was Daniel Jones’ go-to receiver, catching 7 balls for 113 yards and a score. Washington is a tough matchup, but with Jones likely running for his life throughout the game, Shepard could be in for double-digit targets as long as Engram is still sidelined.
