Week 3 fantasy football is here and so it’s time to take a look at wide receiver rankings for the weekend.
I’d like to take the moment to thank Mike Williams for living up to the massive amounts of hype I was putting out into the universe last week. He’s a locked-in WR2 until we see otherwise. Also, my apologies to Terry McLaurin for treating him as anything other than the WR1 that he is. It’s a tough matchup this week against the Buffalo Bills but I trust Scary Terry will get it done.
Here are my .5PPR wide receiver rankings for 2021 Week 3. I’ve highlighted four standouts who I’m particularly high on this week, plus my top streaming option.
Make sure to check back here throughout the week as I will be making sure to update them as quickly as possible with any new information. As always, if you have specific rankings or starts & sits questions, drop them in the comments or hit me up @petemrogers.
Week 2 Standouts
Tyler Lockett (WR1) — Lockett is the WR1 in fantasy football. The Minnesota Vikings are giving up the third-most points to wide receivers to start the year. I know Lockett has had games in which he entirely disappears in the past—and given that I’ve ranked him so highly this week he’s bound to do that to me—but so far his usage in Seattle has been elite. You’re not not starting Lockett everywhere with staggering expectations.
Sterling Shepard (WR21) — Shepard has emerged as the No. 1 WR in the New York Giants’ offense, leading the team in targets, catches, yards, and tied for the lead in touchdowns. Shepard hasn’t seen under nine targets to start the year and against a vulnerable Atlanta Falcons’ secondary—giving up the second-most fantasy points to receivers—he’s sure to have yet another WR2 outing.
Marquise Brown (WR22) — I’m officially trusting Brown with all my heart. I gave him props on Monday’s NerdBall Show and he more than deserves it. It’s been back-to-back weeks for Brown with at least 6 targets, 69 yards, and a touchdown. The second-year receiver has been Lamar Jackson’s go-to target and will surely do damage this week against the Detroit Lions.
Rondale Moore (WR29) — Time to go all in on the Arizona Cardinals’ rookie receiver. Moore is coming off a huge game in which he caught 7-of-8 targets for 114 yards and a score. He now faces against a Jacksonville Jaguars’ secondary ranked 28th against the pass (per NEFF). That’s a matchup to take advantage of.
Top Streamer
K.J. Osborn (WR43, 38% rostered) — Osborn has bene unstoppable to start the year, seeing at least 6 targets, 5 catches, and 76 yards each game this season. I didn’t know the Vikings passing attack could support THREE fantasy viable receivers but here we are. Kirk Cousins is going to have to sling the ball around if Minnesota hopes to stay in this game and Osborn could be in-line for yet another long touchdown this week.
