Wide Receiver Rankings for Week 8 Fantasy Football

Credit where credit is due, Ja'Marr Chase ranks the WR1 this week vs the Jets. Full wide receiver rankings for Week 8 fantasy football.

Week 8 fantasy football is here and so it’s time to take a look at wide receiver rankings for the weekend.

I quickly would like to ask Calvin Ridley why he hates me. I went about singing his praises on every known platform and he comes back with a dud. A DUD. I’m starting to really panic about Ridley this year and think that my James Robinson trade for him earlier in my home league is going to come bite me in the rear end. I mean, Russell Gage in his first game back put forward a better game then Ridley has all year. YIKES.

Enough of my sad ramblings. Here are my .5PPR wide receiver rankings for 2021 Week 8. I’ve also got for you my top streaming option this week along with my favorite DFS play (salary via FanDuel).

Make sure to check back here throughout the week as I will be making sure to update them as quickly as possible with any new information. As always, if you have specific rankings or starts & sits questions, hit me up on Twitter @petemrogers.

Stream of the Week: T.Y. Hilton vs Tennessee Titans (47% rostered)

Hilton saw his first action this season back in Week 6 in which he caught 4 targets for 80 yards against the Texans. He then missed Week 7 vs the 49ers nursing a quad injury. The injury is obviously worth monitoring, but if Hilton is ready to go this week, he could be in for another solid flex/low-end WR2 performance against a bad Titans secondary. Even after more or less shutting down the Chiefs’ offense last week, the Titans still rank dead-last in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Given Hilton’s immediate impact back in Week 6, I expect him to be an important part of the Colts’ passing game this week if healthy.

If Hilton is out this week, K.J. Osborn is my backup top streamer. Osborn is quietly the WR42 in .5PPR this year and gets another smash matchup against the Cowboys.

DFS Play of the Week: Stefon Diggs vs Miami Dolphins ($7,300)

I understand that Diggs hasn’t been burning down all of fantasy football this year but wow this seems really low for the Bills’ top receiver. Diggs hasn’t had a game below 60 yards receiving this year and is coming off his best fantasy game of the season in Week 6 (Bills had a Week 7 bye). Diggs priced as the WR11 on FanDuel despite playing against a Dolphins defense ranked 26th in NEFF pass defense rating and allowing the 2nd-most receiving points per game seems like stealing if you ask me.
