Wide Receiver Rankings for Week 9 Fantasy Football

Diontae Johnson is ready to roast the Bears' secondary Monday night. Full wide receiver rankings for Week 9 fantasy football.

Week 9 fantasy football is here and so it’s time to take a look at wide receiver rankings for the weekend.

Rams, Texans, and Falcons’ wide receivers have the best matchups this week as they face the bottom three defenses in WR PPG allowed. Obviously this means Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Brandin Cooks should be in starting lineups everywhere. Meanwhile it’ll be tough sledding for the Eagles and Jaguars, facing the Chargers and Bills respectively, both allowing under 21 .5PPR WR PPG.

Here are my .5PPR wide receiver rankings for 2021 Week 9. I’ve also got for you my top streaming option this week along with my favorite DFS play (salary via FanDuel).

Make sure to check back here throughout the week as I will be making sure to update them as quickly as possible with any new information. As always, if you have specific rankings or starts & sits questions, hit me up on Twitter @petemrogers.

Stream of the Week: Hunter Renfrow vs New York Giants (54% rostered)

Renfrow has been one of the Raiders’ most consistent wide receivers, seeing eight targets in three of Vegas’ last four games. With Henry Ruggs now off the team due to his DUI resulting in death charge, Renfrow will likely be relied upon even more. The Giants are giving up the 5th most receptions and 11th most PPG to wide receivers this season. Renfrow is a great streaming option this week, particularly in PPR leagues.

I wanted to pick one of Russell Gage or Tajae Sharp vs a Saints’ secondary allowing the 4th most WR PPG, but I have no idea which receiver to pick. I think Gage, despite his zero target performance in Week 8, is the guy to trust here but I honestly don’t know.

DFS Play of the Week: Brandin Cooks vs Miami Dolphins ($6,800)

I really wanted to pick Diontae Johnson here (as you can tell by the article photo) but the Steelers play the Bears Monday night so he’s not in FanDuel’s main slate. Still, he should be your Captain/MVP Monday night.

Cooks is facing the worst fantasy pass defense over the last four weeks, allowing well over 40 .5PPR WR PPG. We all know Cooks can easily finish a top-5 fantasy receiver any given week. He’s done it already multiple times this year. With Tyrod Taylor likely back under center this week, I’m confident in Cooks returning elite WR1 value.
