Whenever the NFL released its schedule for the 2022 season, the league was confident that a Thursday night matchup between the Raiders andRams was going to be an exciting game to watch in Week 14. The Raiders added Davante Adams and Chandler Jones in the offseason while the Rams were fresh off a Super Bowl victory.
But alas, the Raiders are 5-7 in Josh McDaniels’ first year as the head coach and the Rams are 3-9 with a boatload of injuries to pivotal positions. It’s not expected to be must-see television on Thursday night and some people may elect to spend time doing something else than watching two struggling teams face each other.
While Thursday’s game could be an ugly one to watch, there is still NFL DFS to be played. With that in mind, here are my favorite captain and flex spot plays for the showdown slate between the Raiders and the Rams on DraftKings in Week 14.
Captain Spot Considerations
Davante Adams ($19,200)
The Rams have Jalen Ramsey on the defensive side of the ball, but the All-Pro cornerback doesn’t shadow opposing No. 1 wideouts every snap. And Adams has a league-high 31.5% target share, so the consistent volume he receives makes him a prime candidate to lead Thursday’s game in scoring. Adams has scored 30-plus points in four of his last five games and the Rams just allowed D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to combine for 17 receptions, 255 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns in Week 13.
Josh Jacobs ($18,600)
Speaking of volume, there aren’t many running backs getting the volume that Jacobs is for the Raiders. Saquon Barkley is the only running back with a higher opportunity share (82.5%) than Jacobs this season. Further more, Jacobs has produced 22-plus points on DraftKings in four straight games.
