Welcome to defense D/ST rankings and streamers for Week 6 fantasy football.
It was a fairly average week in D/ST scoring in Week 5, with only 5 teams breaking the 10 point mark, led by the Bills putting up 17 points in the dominant win over the Chiefs. I missed that one as I thought the Bills would struggle to contain the Chiefs offense, but four turnovers and a defensive touchdown puts the Bills miles ahead as the top fantasy defense of 2021.
With an ever growing amount of tape and data at hand, I go again in Week 6 to bring you my D/ST rankings for the next round of match ups. I will continue to post my rankings each week, and give you a team you can look to stream, plus my favorite DFS plays for the week ahead. With the first bye weeks upon us, that means no Saints, 49ers, Falcons or Jets to rank this week.
These rankings are subject to change throughout the week, so check back as any quarterback news drops to see how it’s reflected in my rankings. If you have any specific quarterback rankings or starts and sits questions, drop them in the comments or you can get me @PaddiCooper on Twitter.
Stream of the Week: Cincinnati Bengals @ Detroit Lions (8% rostered)
I’m back to the same well this week, picking against a Lions offense that I have rated in the bottom 10 per my NEFF ratings. As the current D/ST13, the Bengals have been a sneaky good defense so far in 2021 and with them available in over 90% of leagues, if you need to stream this week due to your team on a bye, they should be sat on your waiver wire.
Alternative streamer – Miami Dolphins @ Jacksonville Jaguars (11% rostered)
DFS Play of the Week: Minnesota Vikings ($2,900) @ Carolina Panthers
The value plays on DraftKings this week don’t have a lot of appeal, with some lopsided matchups meaning if you want to feel confident in your DFS defense, you’re going to need to invest a bit more salary. The Vikings are the best value I can see, playing a Panthers offense that seems to have lost some of its mojo over the past couple of weeks. The Vikings are second in the league is sacks with 17 and doubled the numbers of turnovers they’ve forced on the season last week against the Lions so are trending right for another strong week.
Alternative DFS play – Dallas Cowboys ($3,200) @ New England Patriots
